Planned Giving
Founded in 1991, Art Omi began with a belief that the arts can be a common denominator for our community. With the generous support of our donors throughout the years, Art Omi has been able to sustain a thriving Sculpture and Architecture Park free of cost to the public, a world-renowned international residency program, and a robust Arts Education initiative.
Planned gifts help support Art Omi’s general operations, allowing us to carry out our mission for years to come. We are honored to serve our international and local community by building and stewarding the often costly programming and infrastructure required for the arts to flourish– and it is with the generous help of committed donors that we are able to.
By establishing a legacy giving plan with Art Omi, you are contributing to an organization that changes the lives and well-being of artists and art-lovers of every age, ensuring access to high-quality arts for all.
Ways to leave a legacy
Bequests
Through your will or trust, bequests can take many forms– a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your estate, or the remainder after your other obligations have been met. To include Art Omi in your estate plans, simply instruct your attorney to add a bequest provision naming Art Omi, Inc. as a beneficiary. Gifts to Art Omi through your will or trust may be fully deductible from your taxable estate.
Retirement Plans & IRAs
Designating Art Omi to receive a portion or all of your retirement assets can provide an important gift and savings. Designating Art Omi as a beneficiary may be accomplished by updating the change of beneficiary form provided by your account custodian.
Life Insurance
Life insurance is a flexible and often overlooked way to make a significant gift to Art Omi. There are several ways to use a life insurance policy for a legacy gift:
- Name Art Omi as a beneficiary — You can designate Art Omi, Inc. as a primary or contingent beneficiary on an existing or new policy. This may only require a simple change-of-beneficiary form through your insurance provider.
- Transfer ownership of an existing policy — If you have a paid-up or no-longer-needed policy, you may be able to donate it outright to Art Omi by transferring ownership. Such a transfer may provide a charitable tax deduction based on the policy's cash value.
- Purchase a new policy — A new life insurance policy with Art Omi as the owner and beneficiary, may make annual premium payments potentially tax-deductible charitable contributions.
