Partnership with Coarc

Since 2009, Art Omi: Education has partnered with Coarc, a family resource and day habilitation program for adults with intellectual and developmental differences, to bring stimulating and rigorous creative experiences to multiple centers across Columbia County. By bringing our workshops off-site and into the community, we are able to serve over 200 individuals each year, making the arts accessible to a diverse population of participants who range in age from 21 to 91! Through drawing, painting, sculpture, mixed media, and ceramics, we aim to provide explorative, process-based art-making that fosters language and fine motor skill development, independence, creative decision-making, and agency.

Art Omi’s programs are made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.

Additional support for Art Omi’s education programs is provided in part by Susan & Harry Newton, the Robert Lehman Foundation, Stephanie Lazar and David Newman, and Sherri Greenbach & David Goldstein. Our Education Fund is made possible by the collective generosity of our larger community; if you would like to designate a gift to our Art Omi: Education, please contact us at
