At a time when museums and galleries have closed their doors, Art Omi in Ghent has something that most exhibition spaces don’t: 120 acres of field and forest that serve as the setting for dozens of installations by contemporary artists.
“We feel really lucky to be able to offer an experience to the public during a time when a lot of arts organizations can’t,” said Ruth Adams, Omi’s executive director. With wide-open spaces, roomy trails, limited parking (enforced by attendants) and new signage reminding visitors of recommended guidelines, “it’s a safe place for people to be,” Adams said. Read more!
