Santiago Taccetti is a Berlin-based, Argentinian born artist. This piece occupies intellectual territory straddling art and architecture. Initially, one sees the piece as an intimidating obelisk-like object, impenetrable and forbidding from a distance. But upon closer inspection, it has a playful character, which draws the viewer to the interior. Taccetti refers to it as embodying "Favela Minimalism" since it has a hint of casual detailing which belies its pristine appearance. References to Judd and Flavin are evident, yet the playful quality of the piece clearly places it in the context of Post-Minimalist exploration of order and chaos, serious architectonic intentionality and a good-natured inspiring art experience.
