Dennis Adams is an American sculptor and conceptual artist internationally recognized for his public projects and museum installations surrounding the relationship of art and the urban environment. Through use of photography, cinema, public space, and architecture, Adam's work explores historical and political undercurrents while addressing the process of collective amnesia. Adam's work has been the subject of over 50 one-person exhibitions in museums and public spaces throughout North America and Europe.
Adams has taught at a number of institutions, such as Parsons School of Design in NYC, Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam, and the Akademie der Bildenden Kunste in Munich. He often participates in conferences, lectures, and seminars in academic and cultural institutions internationally. He currently works at Cooper Union where he teaches 3D Design, Sculpture, and a Public Art studio/seminar.
Dennis Adams' work can be seen in several international collections including the Museum of Modern Art, Whitney Museum of American Art, Museum van Hedendaagse Kunst Antwerpen, the Fotomuseum Winterthur, Fonds National d'Art Contemporain, Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, and the Walker Art Center. His representatives are Kent Fine Art in NYC, Galerie Fabrielle Maubrie in Paris, Galerie Lumen Travo in Amsterdam, and galeria Moises Perez de Albeniz in Pamplona.
