Join us for one or more weeks of Columbia County's most popular arts camp! This program engages kids ages 6-11 in a variety of creative adventures that include drawing, painting, sculpture, performance, music, nature art, and more. Through self and guided exploration, hands-on learning and making experiences, collaboration, and critical thinking, children gain new skills and confidence in the power of their own ideas. With contemporary art and architecture and the expansive natural landscape as a backdrop, sky's the limit for what we can dream up and create together!

Children MUST be at least 6 years old at the time of the program. Campers are divided into four groups by age with a teacher:camper ratio of 1:5. Each day, kids rotate through our studios where workshops and projects are led by our amazing teaching artists: 2D Studio, Sculpture Shop, Performance/Movement, and Field Studies. Other daily activities include Swimming, Stage Time, Snack & Lunch times, and Open Play.

Swimming
Swimming occurs everyday (weather permitting) on site in an in-ground pool, enclosed in the backyard of Ledig House. Children swim in two groups divided by age at alternating times. There are no formal swim lessons, just open time where children can play in and out of the water as they wish. A certified, experienced lifeguard is present at all times. Swimming and Aquatics procedures meet the New York State Department of Health Children’s Camp requirements and standards.

On the first day of camp, the lifeguard will administer a swim test to determine which children may enter the deep end of the pool (5ft). Those children who are not deemed strong swimmers will wear a colored wristband and remain in the shallow end (3ft), marked by a floating rope. If you know your child is not a strong swimmer (i.e. needs help in the shallow end, prefers only to put feet in, cannot cross the width of the pool without touching the bottom), please let Sasha know so that they will be cared for accordingly. Children are only required to take the swim test if they wish to enter the deep end of the pool. At least one adult instructor will be in the shallow end during swim time to assist our youngest campers. Feel free to provide your child with any personal floating accessory (e.g. ‘swimmies’, vest) that they feel comfortable with. If your child is a NON-SWIMMER or prefers not to swim, they will join us at the pool where there will be other activities available.

Aftercare will be available everyday from 3-4:45PM, $25/child per day.
