Artists Shona McAndrew and Portia Munson held a virtual conversation on the influence of feminism and the decorative arts on their personal art practices on Wednesday, June 30 at 6 PM. The talk was moderated by Nicole Hayes. Shona McAndrew: *Just the three of us* was on view in the Newmark Gallery at Art Omi May 29 - August 29, 2021. This a sculptural installation consists of over 175 painted paper mache objects depicting three female friends enjoying time spent together in a room filled with objects inspired by the artist's personal space and collections. Among the issues explored by the exhibition, the viewer is asked to consider the portrayal of female bodies and friendships in Western art. Portia Munson is well known for her installation, painting and photographic works, which explore the themes of feminism and the environment. Her exhibition *Memento Mori Mandalas* is currently on view throughout the grounds at Olana Historic Site in Hudson, NY. The monumental mandalas printed on silk banners celebrate the beauty of the natural world, as well as pay tribute to the creatures that have paid the price of human's harsh impact on the environment.
