Join us for one or more weeks of Columbia County's most popular arts camp for preschoolers! This program is limited to twelve children with two adult teachers and an assistant. Artgarten occurs under a large, open-air tent with excursions throughout the Sculpture & Architecture park. Daily activities include art projects using a variety of media, nature exploration in the sculpture and architecture park, open play, story time, and swimming as well as snack and lunch times, and morning/afternoon circle meetings. With contemporary art and architecture and the expansive natural landscape as a backdrop, sky's the limit for what we can dream up and create together!
This program is limited to 12 participants per session. Children MUST be at least 4 years old at the time of the program.
Financial Aid
Art Omi: Education's Scholarship Fund provides a limited amount of need-based financial aid for families. Our goal is to serve as many individuals as possible by offering assistance that covers 50% of the tuition costs for Artgarten and Camp Omi for up to 3 weeks of the program for up to 3 children per family.
Financial Aid Applications Deadline: December 23, 2023.
Swimming
Swimming occurs everyday (weather permitting) on site in an in-ground pool, enclosed in the backyard of Ledig House. There are no formal swim lessons, just open time where children can play in and out of the water as they wish. A certified, experienced lifeguard is present at all times. Children are limited to the steps and shallow end of the pool (3ft.) marked by a floating rope. Artgarten staff join children in the water. Feel free to provide your child with any personal floating accessory (e.g. ‘swimmies’, vest) that they feel comfortable with. If your child is a NON-SWIMMER, they will join us at the pool where there will be other activities available. Swimming and Aquatics procedures meet the New York State Department of Health Children’s Camp requirements and standards.
Aftercare will be available everyday from 3-4:45PM, $25/child per day.
