The 2020 sessions of Camp Omi and Artgarten have been cancelled. But Art Omi: Education team is working to develop a "remotely interactive" experience in lieu of on-site camp. Camp Omi in a Box is an affordable, weekly subscription to a series of make-at-home art projects, online tutorials, and interactive zoom meetings inspired by the mission and spirit of Camp Omi. Stay tuned for more information about how you can register to receive one week or a full summer's worth of art making materials, projects, and opportunities to connect!

You may also join the Art Omi: Education mailing list for free, weekly Creative Momentum art projects to make at home!

Artgarten is a special program designed with our youngest artists in mind! Occurring at the same time and place as Camp Omi, Artgarten allows 4 and 5 year olds to explore, create, play, and grow in a developmentally appropriate environment alongside experienced and energetic caregivers. Children must be 4 years old at the time of the program.

SWIMMING
Swimming occurs everyday (weather permitting) on site in an in-ground pool, enclosed in the backyard of Ledig House. There are no formal swim lessons, just open time where children can play in and out of the water as they wish. Two certified, experienced lifeguards are present at all times. Children are limited to the steps and shallow end of the pool (3ft.) marked by a floating rope. Artgarten staff join children in the water. Feel free to provide your child with any personal floating accessory (e.g. ‘swimmies’, vest) that they feel comfortable with. If your child is a NON-SWIMMER, he/she will join us at the pool where there will be other activities, including a ‘kiddie pool’ or sprinkler monitored by a counselor. Swimming and Aquatics procedures meet the New York State Department of Health Children’s Camp requirements and standards.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
Cancellations made prior to June 15th are eligible for a full refund. After June 15th, a $100 cancellation fee per each child registered will apply.

Virtual Drawing Group

Apr 23 – Dec 31
5 – 6 PM

On Thursday evenings, Art Omi hosts Open Figure Drawing for Adults, where a group of artists gathers in the Newmark Gallery to sketch, draw, and render from a live model. While current circumstances prevents us from gathering in person, the urge to forge community through artistic practice has in some ways grown stronger than ever.

Now, we are inviting everyone in Art Omi's extended community to draw along at home! You are also invited to share and connect with the group via a weekly Zoom Thursdays from 5 - 6 pm EST. Please note that registration is capped, and so we encourage you to reserve your spot in advance.

You can also participate by tagging us on your completed drawings on Instagram or Facebook! Use #artomi and #educationomi to share your work. All styles and media welcome — show us your creative best!

Jul 6 – Aug 21

Camp Omi in a Box is a weekly subscription to a series of make-at-home art projects, online tutorials, and interactive online gatherings that capture the mission and spirit of Art Omi’s popular Camp Omi and Artgarten programs. Anchored by a weekly box of specialty art materials, tools, and products Camp Omi in a Box includes activity prompts and access to exclusive online tutorials by Camp Omi Teaching Artists. Children may participate in a single week, or the whole seven-week program.

Camp Omi in a Box is designed for kids ages 6-10, and includes socially distanced in person sessions every Monday and Friday from 9 am - noon. Camp Omi in a Box: Artgarten provides projects for kids ages 3-5 with pick-ups on the Friday before the Monday session. Projects are supplemented with Google Meet sessions, where Campers learn and share! Younger children in both programs will need parent assistance and/or supervision. While some projects are designed to be more independent than others, we like to think of the program as fun and engaging for the whole family!
