Café Omi, located in the Visitors Center at The Fields Sculpture Park, serves seasonal lunch specials, soups, salads and sweets. Our menu rotates weekly and is carefully craſted by our talented local chefs. Café Omi is proud to offer the freshest seasonal ingredients and produce sourced from local farms and purveyors in Columbia County.

This menu is prepared by chef Rita Soares-Kern with ingredients sourced from farms and purveyors in Columbia County including Ten Barn Farm and Berry Farm.


Café Omi is open with a full menu every Saturday and Sunday, from 11 AM - 4 PM.

There is a limited weekday menu of snacks and beverages available for Monday - Friday, from 11 AM - 4 PM.

Our Chef

Rita Soares-Kern

I'm from the Azores (Portugal) and I immigrated to Montreal at a very young age. I Grew up in a multi etchnic community which initiated my curiousity in the diversity of taste. As a self-taught chef, I've brought 20 years of culinary experience to Omi. I've been a chef-in-residence for the Omi Writers's Residency since 2003.This came with a challenge of dietary restrictions which brought new culinary attributes. I also worked for 10 years with the previous Carlucci Catering Co. preparing very large events - weddings, fund raisers, and family parties in Columbia County. I also run my own in-home, private chef service called The Wooden Spoon. My background in art comes out in the presentation of my food.
