Nicolás Aracena Müller works within the scopes of performance art, architecture, contemporary design, sculpture and fabrication. The architect relies on the landscape, architecture and surrounding area to act as conceptual research material, which allows him to explore and react to his surroundings, a perspective on our environment. Join us in inaugurating three exhibitions for Architecture Omi with an opening, reception + curator's talk at the Benenson Visitors Center.

Architecture Omi: ReActor
Alex Schweder + Ward Shelley

Five-day performance: Oct. 6-10

 

ReActor is the newest work in an experimental, performative series of "social relationship architecture" by internationally renowned architect-artist team Alex Schweder + Ward Shelley. Located in Architecture Omi's Field 01, ReActor is a habitable sculpture, where Schweder + Shelley will live in full view of their audience for a series of performances throughout the season.

Fall Exhibition Opening: Nicole Cherubini, Remy Jungerman + Kahn and Selesnick

The Fall Exhibition at The Fields Sculpture Park will include works by Nicole Cherubini and Remy Jungerman in the Visitors Center + Gallery, as well as new imagery in Freya Powell's zoetrope in The Fields by Kahn and Selesnick titled The Devils Turn.

Trick or Treat in The Fields

Saturday, October 29, 1-3 PM
The Fields Sculpture Park


Join us at Omi for a free afternoon of Halloween fun! We'll provide art-making, hayrides, and a candy hunt amongst the sculptures. Come in your favorite costume, craft your own treat bag, and enjoy cider and popcorn in the park.

Saturday Children's Workshops

$12 per child or $20 for two
Drop off/Pick up at the Benenson Visitors Center

Join us on Saturday mornings for this popular workshop for young artists ages 4 1/2 - 12! Based on a weekly theme and inspired by artworks in The Fields, Architecture Omi, and the Visitors Center Gallery, each workshop includes an outdoor adventure and a hands-on artmaking activity. Led by teaching artists, children are divided into two groups by age and participate in developmentally appropriate projects that encourage curiosity, experimentation, and creative thinking through a variety of materials and experiences.

Café Omi

Weekends with full lunch menu & weekdays with drinks and snacks, 11 AM - 4 PM 


Café Omi, located in the Visitors Center at The Fields Sculpture Park, serves seasonal lunch specials, soups, salads and sweets. Our menu rotates weekly and is carefully craſted by our talented local chefs. Café Omi is proud to offer the freshest seasonal ingredients and produce sourced from local farms and purveyors in Columbia County.
